Retrofit Assessments

Retrofit assessments are integral to improving the energy efficiency of existing buildings in the United Kingdom. These assessments evaluate the current energy performance of a building, identify opportunities for energy-saving measures, and recommend modifications to reduce energy consumption, enhance comfort, and lower carbon emissions. Retrofit assessments are often conducted as part of a building retrofit process aimed at meeting Net Zero carbon targets and ensuring compliance with increasingly stringent Building Regulations and climate change commitments.

Purpose of Retrofit Assessments

The primary goals of a retrofit assessment are to:

  1. Evaluate energy efficiency of existing buildings.

  2. Identify cost-effective improvements that can reduce energy consumption.

  3. Reduce carbon emissions and help meet UK climate goals.

  4. Improve thermal comfort and air quality within homes and buildings.

  5. Support compliance with Building Regulations and initiatives like the Energy Efficiency Directive.
